As a part of the fake pawn card, the Income Tax Department has recently revoked 11.4 lakh paan cards. As of July 27, 2012, 11,44,211 fake panes have been canceled, according to a latest report. Furthermore, information is available for linking to Aadhaar by this month but also canceling PAN cards. Follow the following procedure to see if the PAN card is active.
Go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website first and then click on the 'Know Your Pane' link on the Services tab.
Enter your name, gender, birth date, status, date of birth and your registered mobile number in the open window
The SMS number of the mobile number you enter has a password. Enter it in the window
If the PAN is valid then the message 'Active' comes in the Remark period.
The site will alert you if there are more than one pan with the same details. Then you have to give more details. Furthermore, the government has imposed a new order for the PAN.
